Your tyres are one of the most important components of your vehicle, which is why having good tyres can improve your driving experience and your safety. However, just like any part of your car, your tyres are prone to wear and tear. When you notice that your tyres aren’t functioning as well as they used to, it may be time to change them out and exchange them for new ones.

Many people avoid changing their set of tyres because they think they’re saving money, but this is rarely the case. When you don’t change your tyres, you risk having a blowout which can cause an accident, costing you a lot more in repairs later on. Instead, get your tyres replaced as they need replacing. Here are five warning signs you need new tyres in East Sussex.

Tread Wear

One of the easiest ways to check and see whether or not you need new tyres is to try the penny test. Place the penny in the tread to begin. If any more than three quarters of the coin is left showing, you may want to have your tyres swapped out. However, most tyres today have wear strips that will begin to show and indicate a need for replacement instead.

Bulges and Cracks

Any cracks, bulges, or gouges in your tyres indicate a need for replacement. Be sure to regularly check your tyres for any of these issues.

Vibrations

While some vibrations are normal while driving, if you notice an increase or excessive vibration, it may indicate that you need to have your tyres replaced. Don’t forget to have your suspension checked as well.

Tyre Pressure

If your tyre pressure is continually low, this may also may indicate that your tyres are wearing and need replacement. Always check for the right pressure levels.
